Changes in behavior

This section describes Kofax eCopy ShareScan product behavior that differs from the previous releases.

  • Effective with Kofax eCopy ShareScan 6.6, the installer no longer displays the Select Java Runtime Environment screen to select a pre-installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (such as Oracle JRE) in a custom installation scenario.

  • The COM registration of connectors and extenders is deprecated in version 6.0 and higher of eCopy ShareScan, since the application uses a different method to identify connectors and extenders. The old mechanism is only preserved for third-party connectors and to ensure compatibility.
