Convert PDF and XPS files from Document Management Systems

With Power PDF, you can import PDF and XPS files into Convert Assistant from all supported DMS types, as described in Starting from a Document Management System.

Alternatively, when working in a DMS, you can select PDF or XPS files inside the DMS, call Convert Assistant, perform the conversion with full control over the process, and then save the resulting file to your local file system or back to a location inside the DMS. Resulting files should be inspected and compared to the source before being archived.

Note In Worldox, Documentum and DocuShare, you cannot open source files directly from your Document Management System. You have to get the source files from the DMS into Convert Assistant through the Open drop-down list or File menu. See Starting from a Document Management System for details.

Convert a file from Microsoft SharePoint:

For conversion functionality to be available in SharePoint, it must be configured by an administrator.

  1. Select one or more PDF or XPS files to convert.
  2. Select Open in PDF Converter from the context menu.

    Important Your menu item may vary, depending on the name assigned by the administrator.

Convert a file from eDOCS

  1. Select one or more PDF or XPS files to convert.
  2. Select Open in Convert Assistant from the context menu.

Convert a file from iManage WorkSite

  1. Select one or more PDF or XPS files to convert.
  2. Select Open with Convert Assistant on the Kofax PDF toolbar or from the context menu.
