Create PDF files in Microsoft Excel
Power PDF provides a Kofax PDF tab in Microsoft Excel with the following tools.

Generates a PDF file from the active document, optionally transferring the hyperlinks, bookmarks, comments, and embedded document information (metadata) to the PDF file according to the creation settings.
Create PDF and E-mail
Create and save a PDF from the current document, and automatically attach a copy of the PDF to a new email message.
Creation Settings
Opens the Power PDF dialog box, where you set preferences for security, tagging, and the transfer of bookmarks, links, comments, and metadata from Excel to the resulting PDF file.
To create a PDF from Excel, do the following:
- Apply basic settings before PDF creation.
- Start PDF creation using the File menu or the Kofax PDF tab on the Ribbon.

Click the
Creation Settings tool on the
Kofax PDF tab.
The Power PDF dialog box appears with the Settings tab active.

Ensure that the settings for tagging, bookmarks, comments,
and links for the PDF output are set according to your preferences. See the PDF Options topic for details.

Tagging a lengthy PDF may take several minutes. Select this option only if you really need a tagged PDF.

- To save all sheets in the workbook, make sure the Convert Entire Workbook check box is selected (default). If you clear the check box, the resulting PDF contains only the currently displayed sheet.

Select Embed document information to
transfer existing document information (metadata) to the PDF.
Note Embedding metadata overrides any information added manually through the Document Settings dialog box.
- Set PDF security. See the Security tab topic for details.
- Click OK.
Start PDF creation from the Kofax PDF tab

Click Create PDF or
Create PDF and E-mail on the Kofax PDF tab,
or use the corresponding menu items.
The Save As dialog box appears.
- Accept or change the default target folder and file name in the Save As dialog box.
- Click Options to display the Excel Options dialog box, where you can specify the PDF options, page range, and more. See the PDF Options topic for details.
- Select View resulting PDF in the Save As dialog box to display the PDF document automatically.

To specify Open password or
Permissions password, select the Protect
PDF check box. See the Security tab
topic for details.
Important PDF security features do not work for PDF/A formats.
- Click Save to start the conversion.
