Authentication tab
Settings on this tab allow you to enable and configure authentication settings for the component.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Authentication Type | Choose the authentication method to be used:
  |

| Windows | Windows authentication authenticates users using their Windows domain user
name. In the Domain box, specify the default domain for
authenticating users. Do not use the fully qualified Domain Name Server (DNS) domain name. Do not use top level domain qualifiers such as .com, .net or .org. For example, if the user is listed as mydomain/user1 or user1@mydomain.domain.com, then in a User Principal Name (UPN) format, the domain should be “mydomain” and NOT “mydomain.domain.com”. Note: If the device is configured to use
an Authentication Server with authentication type SMB, then the credentials
provided will be used by workflow server. If the authentication type of the device
is something other than SMB, then in addition to workflow server login screen, the
device authentication screen is also displayed.
                      |

| Custom Script | When Custom is selected for Authentication Type, the
administrator defines prompts that are displayed to the user. An event is sent
to the server when a user logs in. The administrator must provide the .NET
plug-in DLL that responds to the event.

| User Info Lookup | Select the Use LDAP search to retrieve email
check box to have the server look up the email address and other attributes
of the authenticated user on a designated LDAP server. Click the
Configure button to configure the LDAP settings in
the LDAP Lookup Settings dialog box. Note: When Windows authentication is selected as the
Authentication Type, the email address is
retrieved automatically as part of the authentication and as a result an
LDAP search is not required if only the email address is needed.
For information about specifying the LDAP server settings, see LDAP Lookup Settings Dialog Box. |
