To ensure secure communication between the MFP and external services, it is advised
to enable TLS. Before performing any Device Registration Service (DRS) actions, if TLS
is being configured, it is recommended that you verify the following TLS certificate
configuration on the Canon MFP. Note: If you are not using a self-signed certificate
(generated by the device), but instead using a certificate signed by a Certificate
Authority (CA), you must import the CA certificate into the trusted CA store of the
Windows system where DRS is installed.
After installing DRS, complete the
following steps.
-
Verify that the device certificate is installed and the TLS certificate is
specified.
-
Open the device web page (which allows users to remotely monitor and
change the network configuration via web browsers as long as the target
MFP is networked and has an IP address) and go to .
-
If the TLS Settings key and certificate option
is not imported, browse and select it from your local machine. For
further details, see Changing the TLS Settings.
Note: If the client uses AutoStore, then also make sure to create a
self-signed certificate in AutoStore under
Unified Client >
Unified Client Settings >
Preferences tab >
Server options >
Use SSL (checked). For more
details, see
Preferences tab.
-
Restart device.
