AltaLink configuration
Begin AltaLink configuration by doing the following:
- Log on to the device as a user with administrator privileges.
- Click the Properties tab.
Continue with the procedures for the different types of settings.
AltaLink SNMP settings
AltaLink TLS, HTTPS, and Xerox Secure Access configuration
- Select .
- Select the version of TLS for your network and click Apply.
- Select .
- Go to the HTTP row and click Edit.
- Under Connection, select Enabled.
- Under Force Traffic over Secure Connection (HTTPS), select Yes and make sure Port Number is set to 443.
- Click Save.
- Click WebServices.
- Make sure Xerox Secure Access is enabled and click Save.
AltaLink EIP settings

Enable EIP web services by doing the following:
- Select .
- Select Enable All.
- Click Save.

Enable EIP applications by doing the following:
- Select .
- Enable Extensible Services Browser.
- Click Apply.
AltaLink device user permission settings
- In the Accounting Workflow row, click Edit.
- For any service that you want to record transactions, from the list, select Capture Usage. If you want to use job limits (and turn on Job Limits on the server), select Pre-Authorization and Capture Usage for Copy Jobs. Click Save.
- Click Edit next to User Accounting Prompts.
- Set the Display Prompt for each prompt to Yes and click Save.
- After the device initialization, select .
- In the User Permission Roles row, click Edit.
- Click the Non-Logged-In Users tab and click Edit.
- Select Apps & Tools.

Select the
Custom Access option to select the services that you want to control access to:

Allowed: The service appears on the control panel and is accessible without authentication.

Not Allowed & Hidden: The service appears on the MFP control panel, but cannot be accessed until the user authenticates.

Not Allowed: The service does not appear on the control panel.

- Click Apply.
- Log out of the device webpage and close the Web browser.
AltaLink DWS certificate acceptance
- Select .

Upload the DWS root CA certificate present in DWS on the device.
- Select .
- Click the Root/Intermediate Trusted Certificate tab.
- Click Install.
- Follow the instructions to install the certificate you exported from DWS.
Hiding Scan-To app for AltaLink
The Scan-To app for AltaLink devices is not supported when Authentication is set to On. The Scan-To app can route a single scan to multiple destinations, which is not supported when Job Limits is used.
To prevent issues, hide the Scan-To app when Authentication is On. Follow these steps:
- Select .

Click the
Non-Logged-In Users tab and do the following:
- In the Non-Logged-In Users permission role, click Edt.
- Click Apps & Tools.
- Select the presets that are appropriate for your configuration.
- For Scan-To, set the Role Status to Not Allowed & Hidden.
- Click Apply to save the changes.

Click the
Logged-In Users tab and do the following:
- Click Make Your Own Permissions Roles.
- Enter a role name and click Create.
- Select the methods that are appropriate for individual and logged-in users.
- Click Apps & Tools.
- Select the presets that are appropriate for your configuration.
- For Scan-To, set the Role Status to Not Allowed & Hidden.
- Click Apply to save the changes.
