SNMP settings
To install the , SNMP must be enabled and set to v3. The procedure depends on the model of the device. See the Xerox device documentation for more information.
AltaLink SNMP settings
- Log on to the device webpage as a user with administrator privileges.
- Select Connectivity > Setup.
- Locate the row for SNMP and click Edit.

Make sure these options under
SNMP Properties are selected:

Enable SNMP v3 Protocol
-
Allow SNMP v3 Set
-

Click
Edit SNMP v3 Properties.
The Edit SNMP v3 Properties window appears.

Complete the
Edit SNMP v3 Properties window as follows:
- In the Authentication / Encryption field, select the SNMP authentication and digest algorithms. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
- Select Account Enabled.
- Enter the user name, authentication password, and privacy password for the device administrator.

Click
Save.
You return to the SNMP window.

Click
Save.
The settings are retained and SNMP v3 is enabled.
VersaLink SNMP settings
- Log on to the device as a user with administrator privileges.
- Select Connectivity.

Click
SNMP.
The SNMP window appears.
- Click SNMPV3.

In the
SNMPV3 window that appears, complete the following settings:
- Turn on Enable (Read).
- Turn on Write.
- Turn on System Administrator Account.
- For Message Digest Algorithm, select either MD5 or SHA-1. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
- For Message Encryption Algorithm, select either DES or AES-128. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
- Enter the user name, authentication password, and encryption password for the device administrator.
- Click OK.
PrimeLink SNMP settings
- Log on to the device as a user with administrator privileges.
- Click the Properties tab.
- Select Connectivity > Protocols > SNMP Configuration.

Make sure all four options under
SNMP Properties are selected:

Enable SNMP v1/v2c Protocols and Allow Write.

Enable SNMP v3 Protocol and Allow Write.
When you are finished, click Apply.

Click
Edit SNMP v3 Properties.
The Edit SNMP v3 Properties screen appears.

In the
Administrator Account section, complete the following:
- Turn on Account Enabled.
- For Message Digest Algorithm, select either MD5 or SHA-1. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
- Enter the Authentication Password for the user listed in the User Name field.
- For Message Encryption Algorithm, select either DES or AES-128. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
- Enter the Privacy Password for the user listed in the User Name field.

In the
Print Drivers / Remote Clients Account section, click
Reset if you need to reset to the default password.
Note:
The Message Digest Algorithm and Message Encryption Algorithm fields match the settings in the Administrator Account section.
- Click Apply.
