Preparing to Configure Sharp MFPs

After installing the Equitrac / server software, you can configure any supported Sharp MFP for the Equitrac embedded application functionality. Before configuring an MFP, consult the MFP documentation and complete the following preparation tasks:
  1. Ensure that the time zone is configured correctly on the MFP. If the time zone is incorrect, Equitrac Embedded transaction times will report incorrectly.
  2. Obtain the IP address or DNS name for the Equitrac / Device Control Engine (DCE) server.
  3. Confirm the MFP administrator authentication credentials (System Manager ID/system password and SMS password).
    Note: To configure the Equitrac Embedded application, you must have administrative access to both the MFP and to the system hosting the Equitrac server components (including valid Windows network credentials with assigned administrative rights). In many cases, the administrative credentials on the MFP are different from the Windows system credentials.
