Authentication methods

The external application that you want to use with the Universal Capture Componen has to support windows authentication.

Using the None authentication method is intended for testing purposes only, as it enforces no authentication requirements for the workflow.

The Windows authentication method requires you to synchronize the service user running the external application with the Universal Capture Component of AutoStore. This is required so the Windows service running the Universal Capture Component can establish a bi-directional communication to the external application.
Note: Ensure that both the machine running external application and the machine running AutoStore are in the same domain.
  1. Stop the AutoStore service.
  2. Open the Universal Capture Component configuration dialog.
  3. Switch to the RRT manager tab tab.
  4. Click the Start button (the field below shows waiting for documents started).
  5. Ensure that the external application is set up properly.
  6. Export a document.
    When the document arrives, a message is displayed. Click OK to enable the given service user.
  7. Click the Handle Accepted Users button to check if the given service user is added to the Enable Users list.
  8. Save the configuration.
  9. Start AutoStore Service.
