Card readers

The Unified Client for Brother supports 3 main types of card readers:

  • Tungsten Micro Card Reader.

  • Known third-party card readers including Elatec and RFIDeas.

  • Custom third-party card readers: Custom card readers may be configured, but support for them depends on their compatibility with Tungsten card readers.

If a card reader is used, only that card reader PID/VID will work. If a third-party card reader is used, a third-party card reader license is required.

For Brother to work with Tungsten USB Card Reader, the Tungsten Micro Card Reader must be configured to Keyboard Emulation mode.
