Adding card reader support

Install the card reader as shown in the Xerox documentation and enable support in Equitrac as shown in Configuring authentication prompts. If you are using an AltaLink device, the card reader is ready to use.

For PrimeLink and VersaLink devices, you must also install the Xerox XCP USB Reader Plug-in. This plug-in is included with your device drivers or can be downloaded from the Xerox website. For Tungsten card readers, you can download the Xerox XCP USB Reader Plug-in from the Tungsten Fulfillment Site. Then, follow these steps.

  1. Go to the web page for the VersaLink device at http://<device host name or IP address>.
  2. Select System > Plug-in Settings.

    The Plug-in Settings window appears.

  3. Click Add.
  4. In the Add Plug-in window, click Select.
  5. Browse to the folder containing the device drivers. Select LibforEqXCPProvider-1.0.0.enc and click Open.

    You will return to the Add Plug-in window.

  6. Click Select again.
  7. Browse to the folder containing the device drivers. Select EQProvider080.jar and click Open.

    The Add Plug-in window lists two new plug-ins:

    • Equitrac XCP Provider

    • Libraries for Equitrac XCP Provider

    Both plug-ins have the status Restart to Activate.

  8. Restart the device.

    When the device has been restarted, the new plug-ins are activated.
