Device properties

The Unified Client for Brother device properties are configured in the Device Registration Service web console. When configured for a device group, they can be propagated to any device in the group.

The following parameters define the device settings. Click the edit button to edit the parameters for a device. Click the save button to save changes to the parameters or click the cancel button to discard changes.

Option	Description
Name	The name of the Brother device or device group. Do not include the following characters: ', ", \, \|, < or >, &.
Address	The IP address or hostname of a Brother device. This is a device only parameter and will not be displayed when configuring parameters for a device group.
Username	The administrator user name for the Brother device.
Password	The administrator password for the Brother device.
Application	A DRS application with Brother as its Application Type. When a device is in a group, this property setting is always inherited the group and does not appear for a device.
Application Name	The name of the application with maximum of 32 characters.
Login Portal Message	The message displayed on the Login Screen at the device.
Device Type	When deploying native device applications, you can specify the correct device type to ensure only supported functionality is deployed to the device: MFP for every other Brother Multi-Function Printer device. SFP for Brother Single-Function Printer devices.
Card Reader Model	There are 3 main types of Card Reader Models that are supported: Tungsten Micro Card Reader. Known third-party card readers including Elatec and RFIDeas card readers. Custom third-party card reader.
Card Reader PID	The Product ID of the card reader.
Card Reader VID	The Vendor ID of the card reader.
SNMP Version	The SNMP version configured on the device settings. Select SNMP V1/V2 if SNMP v1/v2c read-write access is configured for SNMP Mode of Operation on the device settings Select SNMP V3 if SNMPv3 read-write access and v1/v2c read-only access or SNMPv3 read-write access is configured for SNMP Mode of Operation on the device settings.
SNMP Get Community Name	The Get Community Name configured on the device's SNMP v1/v2c Mode Settings.
SNMP Set Community Name	The Set Community Name configured on the device's SNMP v1/v2c Mode Settings.
SNMP User Name	The User Name configured on the device's SNMPv3 Mode Settings.
SNMP Context Name	The Context Name configured on the device's SNMPv3 Mode Settings.
SNMP Authentication Method	The Authentication Method configured on the device's SNMPv3 Mode Settings.
SNMP Authentication Password	The Authentication Password configured on the device's SNMPv3 Mode Settings. Valid value should be from 8 to 16 characters.
SNMP Privacy Password	The Privacy Password configured on the device's SNMPv3 Mode Settings. Valid value should be from 8 to 16 characters.
