Set up a card reader

In the Tungsten Reader Maintainer application, in Settings, verify that Reader Settings is Keyboard v08.
  1. Log in to the Sharp device with administrator credentials.
  2. Go to System Settings > Authentication Settings > Condition Settings and set the Card ID Registration/Change Authority setting to Enable.
  3. Click Update.
  4. Under Authentication Settings, click Default Settings and complete the following:
    1. In the Card Setting section, select the Use IC Card for Authentication checkbox.
    2. For the Authentication Method Setting, select Only Card Authentication Approved.
  5. Reboot the device to register the card reader. After swiping the card, the user is prompted to register the card.

You receive the following message after plugging in the card reader if the setup is successful: "Detected the device. Press [OK] if it is registered as a card reader for authentication."

Press OK to complete the registration.
