Retrieval

The Retrieval workflow is available to create a repository for later use. When first adding a Retrieval workflow step, the administrator is tasked with selecting a repository to use. If no repositories exist, a new repository must be created with the New button.

For more information on using the Retrieval module as a PSIcapture user, see "Retrieval" in the Kofax PSIcapture User Help.

Repository Definition

Clicking the New button opens the Repository Definition dialog box. This dialog box is where users configure a new repository.

Name: Enter a name for the repository.

Repository Type: Select the type of this repository.

  • Local: The repository is local and is only available to the current workstation.

  • Shared: The repository is shared among the workstations on the network.

Annotation Storage Type: Users can select between the following storage types:

  • Save Annotations in TIFF: Saves all annotations in a TIFF file at the location specified in the Directory text box.

  • Save Annotations in Separate File: Saves all annotations in a separate file at the location specified in the Directory text box.

Shared Search Repository: Selecting this box makes the repository searchable to all Retrieval module users.

Directory: Determine the location of the directory by clicking the Browse button.

Once the repository is configured, there are no additional configuration elements that need to be adjusted. For more information about how to quickly and easily manage your repositories or shared databases, see Configuration: Retrieval.
