Update Batch Capture Profile

Updating batches is necessary when configuration changes are implemented on the capture profile while an existing batch has already begun processing, and when old configuration settings are present in any step of the workflow. This process updates the batch and applies your configuration changes so that users do not need to recapture the batch and restart the workflow process. Administrators can then modify the workflow step as necessary.

  1. Click the Select Batches button.

The Select Batches dialog box appears.

  2. Select the batches to be updated, then click Select.

Selecting more than 15 batches is not recommended, because the system may run out of memory.

  3. Assign a workflow step for the selected batches.

    The following options are available:

    • Leave the batches in the current step (default)

    • Capture / Import

    • Index

    • Quality Assurance

    • Migration

When a user adds or removes a workflow step from the capture profile workflow, the batches are automatically assigned to the Capture step.

  4. Optionally, select Mark all workflow steps that follow as incomplete to clear the completed flag for any workflow steps that follow the newly selected step.

This flag would be set if a batch completed a workflow step before the user changed the configuration in the edit step. The user may want the batches in question to go through those workflow steps again.

  5. Click the Begin Update button.

The system checks out each batch and updates it. The update status of each batch can be as follows:

    • Pending

    • Processing

    • Update Complete

    • Error Checking Out Batch

    • Error Updating

  6. Click Close.
