Configuring the device to connect to a Sharp OSA web application

Configure OSA 5.5 and 6 devices

Use this procedure to configure Sharp OSA 5.5 and 6 devices. For a current list of OSA 5.5 and 6 devices, visit the MFD and Productivity Supported Devices web page.
  1. Open your browser and navigate to the home page for the MFP (http://MFP_IP_Address).
  2. Click System Settings.
  3. Click Sharp OSA Settings.
  4. Enter your administrator credentials.
  5. On the navigation menu, click Standard Application Settings.
  6. Click Add.
  7. On the Standard Application Registration screen, complete the following:
    1. In the Application Name box, type the application name.
    2. In the Address for Application UI, type the address for the Sharp OSA Web Application.
      Typically, this is http://Web_Application_IP_Address:Web_port/ASWebForSharp/Default.aspx.
    3. In the Timeout box, type the time that the MFP should wait for a response from the application (1 – 60 seconds).
    4. Select the Extended Platform check box.
    5. For OSA 5.5 or higher, select "HTML Browser n2.0" in the Browser: field.

      If the Browser: field is not visible, see instructions in the Display the Browser setting to turn on Display Setting for Sharp OSA Browser Setting.

    6. Click Submit.

Configure device models AR-31x/35x/45x/55x/62x/70x, MX-55x/62x/70x

Use this procedure to configure device models AR-31x, 35x, 45x, 55x, 62x, 70x MX-55x, 62x, 70x.
  1. Open your browser and navigate to the home page for the MFP device (http://MFP_IP_Address).
  2. On the navigation menu, click Admin Mode.
  3. Enter your administrator credentials.
  4. Select External Applications on the navigation menu.
  5. Select Standard Application on the main page.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Type the application name in the Application Name box.
  8. In the Address for Application UI, type the address for the Sharp OSA Web Application.
    Typically, this is http://Web_Application_IP_Address:Web_port/ASWebForSharp/Default.aspx.
  9. In the Timeout box, type the time that the MFP should wait for a response from the application (1 – 60 seconds).
  10. Click Submit.

Configure device models MX-230x/270x/350x/450x/550x/620x/700x

Use this procedure to configure device models MX-230x, 270x, 350x, 450x, 550x, 620x, 700x.
  1. Open your browser and navigate to the home page for the MFP (http://MFP_IP_Address).
  2. On the navigation menu, click Application Settings.
  3. On the navigation menu, click External Applications Settings.
  4. Enter your administrator credentials.
  5. On the navigation menu, click Standard Application Settings.
  6. Click Add.
  7. In the Application Name box, type the application name.
  8. In the Address for Application UI, type the address for the Sharp OSA Web Application.
    Typically, this is http://Web_Application_IP_Address:Web_port/ASWebForSharp/Default.aspx.
  9. In the Timeout box type the time that the MFP should wait for a response from the application (1 – 60 seconds).
  10. Click Submit.
