Control Terminals

Control terminals are small network devices that are installed on or near printers, copiers, or multi-function devices. The Kofax Ethernet Card Reader control terminal authenticates users to release print jobs securely at single-function and multifunction printers. The card reader has two connection ports:

• One port connects to the Ethernet network, and supports Power-over-Ethernet
• One port connects to the printer

When a user presents their ID card at the card reader, user authentication is performed in the network and associated print jobs are released.
